Join Washington National Cathedral for a night of dialog with legendary singer-songwriter, activist, and international humanitarian Bono to debate his new memoir, Surrender, with Cathedral Canon Historian Jon Meacham. Surrender is the story of the exceptional life he’s lived, the challenges he’s confronted, and the family and friends who’ve formed and sustained him. In his distinctive voice, Bono takes us from his early days rising up in Dublin, together with the sudden lack of his mom when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to turn out to be one of many world’s most influential rock bands, to his greater than twenty years of activism devoted to the battle towards AIDS and excessive poverty.
