I screened over 5,000 resumes throughout my time at Amazon, throughout AWS and Prime Air. I interviewed 160+ candidates personally, and educated recruiters on what to search for in the remaining.
Single-page resumes confirmed the fitting key phrases. But they nearly by no means gave me sufficient information to justify spending an hour on a cellphone display.
The few instances I gave a one-pager the advantage of the doubt, I knew inside 5 minutes the candidate did not have the depth I wanted. That’s 45 minutes of interview plus quarter-hour of notes. Gone.
Your resume has one job: give the hiring supervisor sufficient proof to spend an hour with you. If it will possibly’t do this, it failed.
