San Bernardino, as soon as a blue-collar city with a stable center class, has turn into the poorest and most harmful metropolis in California. I see a variety of the feedback from individuals who say – you spend a variety of time driving round, displaying everybody rundown America. Where are you from? Why don’t you choose on YOUR house city.
Every time I come house, I see one thing new. I’m right here for one cause or one other about yearly, and I at all times wish to drive round and test issues out. Kinda go up and down outdated neighborhoods on a nosy safari. It was that you just’d need to exit of your method to see rundown and ghetto right here. Not anymore.
I suppose most people who grew up right here steer clear of the worst components of San Bernardino. There’s actually no cause to be in a few of these areas. A lot of it’s simply blight, poverty and medicines.
If the world, you’d keep in mind that San Bernardino was a very nice place to reside again within the day. In the 50s and 60s, this was America at its most interesting. Cruisin USA. It’s an hour east of LA, the place you can have a pleasant higher center class life. McDonalds started right here. Taco Bell started right here. The Rolling Stones performed their first live performance right here.
San Bernardino wasn’t an upscale place, and there weren’t a variety of excessive finish white collar jobs. But with the railroads and manufacturing vegetation and the air drive base on the town, the gettin was good.
