Porto’s Bakery & Cafe is a Cuban American bakery that was opened in Southern California in 1976 by a girl named Rosa Porto. Porto grew up studying recipes from her mom and began an unlawful cake enterprise in Cuba when Fidel Castro was in energy to become profitable for her household. Once she arrived in Los Angeles, she baked and bought desserts to neighbors and Cuban immigrants. The household took out a small mortgage and began the bakery in 1976, and as we speak they’ve 5 areas all through Los Angeles. Porto’s Bakery & Cafe is legendary for its candy and savory menu objects, together with the tres leches cake, candy pastries like cheese rolls and guava strudels, Cuban sandwiches, and potato balls. The bakery continues to be a family-run enterprise, with areas in Glendale, Burbank, Downey, Buena Park, and West Covina.
